Hollywood Comes to Urmston

On a warm, sunlit Wednesday evening, April 29th, the Lady Dragon Cynthia Rothrock arrived in Manchester. It marked her first visit to this part of the country, as part of a week-long tour promoting the Doncaster Martial Arts Show.

Phil Moulton, a ninth-degree black belt, made the decision to bring her to Manchester for the very first time. He assembled a dedicated team to host an evening featuring stretching sessions, martial arts combinations, and an exclusive meet-and-greet with Cynthia Rothrock.

From the moment she stepped through the door, Cynthia was greeted with rapturous applause. The audience hung on every second, fully captivated by her presence.

She made her way through the crowd and stepped to the front, warmly introducing herself. Having just flown in from Los Angeles, she was remarkably energetic despite the effects of jet lag.

Those attending the meet-and-greet took their seats to one side, while the rest gathered closer, ready to take part in an hour-long training seminar. Cynthia put everyone through their paces with a series of demanding stretches, quickly reminding participants just how much their muscles, and even a few joints, could be tested.

Once warmed up, she guided the group through a range of martial arts combinations, demonstrating techniques with precision and impact that kept the audience fully engaged throughout.

At the conclusion of the session, Phil Moulton, who is a former World and European Karate Champion and 9th Dan Black Belt, stepped forward to present Cynthia with a 9th Dan Black Belt, an unforgettable and well-deserved moment that drew strong appreciation from everyone in attendance.

Following this, the evening moved into the meet-and-greet. Fans queued with merchandise in hand, eager for autographs and photos. Cynthia was incredibly generous with her time, greeting each person with genuine enthusiasm and warmth. It was clear the experience meant a great deal to everyone there.

Phil's decision to host the event proved to be a resounding success, and it feels certain this will be just one of many such evenings to come.

During the event, Phil, who has worked as close protection and security for many celebrities including Whitney Houston, Pelé, Sir David Beckham, Eric Cantona, the National Football Team, Members of Parliament, and members of the British Royal Family (under RaSP), was also overseeing several of his students as they reached the final stages of their close protection course on behalf of Capricorn Security and worked towards their own certification. This was truly an amazing experience, bringing Hollywood to our town of Urmston.
